Quick summary
Dolia is a strong Roam Support who wants to protect carries through burst windows. Public guides recommend a build starting with Boots of Deftness and Heal.
Current patch decision guide
When to pick Dolia, when to avoid them, and how to adapt your build.
Dolia is a strong Roam Support who wants to protect priority carries from burst engages. Public guide data shows a build centered on Boots of Deftness, Crimson Shadow - Starspring, Glacial Buckler, paired with Heal, used to protect the marksman, set vision, and engage on cooldown windows. Pick her when the draft lets Dolia reach the targets her kit is designed to threaten; avoid when the matchup denies the windows her kit needs.
Pick Dolia when
- The enemy team has burst threats that need to be absorbed by reliable shields
- Your team has the structure to use her ability to protect the marksman, set vision, and engage on cooldown windows, since Dolia delivers utility, vision, and timely peel for the carries.
- The enemy draft includes Dharma, Augran, and Mozi, who appear in counter data as matchups Dolia can pressure.
Avoid Dolia when
- The enemy plays sustained damage rather than burst, which shields cannot absorb in single windows
- Your team needs a damage pick more than Dolia's specialty, leaving the role unfilled if you commit here.
- The enemy team is built around answers to Team Buffs, removing the windows Dolia's kit needs to perform.

Build decisions
Team-buff support core
Dolia's official build supports her Team Buffs identity as a Roam enchanter. Boots of Deftness adds roam speed and Crimson Shadow - Starspring restores teammate Health, while Glacial Buckler (group damage and slow) and Ominous Premonition (slows attackers) give her the peel and lockdown her carries need. Longnight Guardian resists burst damage to keep her alive in the fight.
Anti-heal & survivability options
Venomous Staff lowers enemy Health regen to cut healing comps, Blazing Cape adds area burn, and Overlord's Platemail plus Sage's Sanctuary (on-the-spot resurrect) round out her durability. The recommended arcana are Fate, Harmony and Void, with Heal as the battle spell to boost her recovery support.
Matchup logic
Timing the shield
Shields are wasted if applied before the enemy commits damage. Read the enemy engage skill, time the shield to overlap the burst window, and refresh once the cooldown is up.
Role positioning
Dolia is a Roam pick whose value depends on utility, vision, and timely peel for the carries. Stick to the role plan rather than forcing fights her kit is not designed to win.
Synergies
Public synergy data lists Di Renjie, Huang Zhong, and Luara as strong partners for Dolia. Plan engages around Di Renjie's setup window, then second-engage with Celestial Melody.
Common mistakes
- Pre-shielding before the engage actually starts, wasting the absorb window before damage lands.
- Engaging without checking enemy summoner-spell cooldowns, which often decide whether Dolia's commit reaches the target alive.
- Forgetting vision while looking for picks — losing the marksman because the support roamed without setting wards is a recurring mistake.
Background
Seasinger
“The waves are the ocean's laughter; the stars are the sky's dreams. That's how the song goes!”
The merfolk have been using their songs to guard the ocean and maintain peace within the waters for millennia. The young mermaid Dolia was born deep below the waves, and she possesses enforcer ancestry. Ever since she was a child, she has had an enchanting singing voice, and her people believed that she had great potential. While searching for treasures in shipwrecks, she used her mermaid's song to help a human boy, Heino, who had been lost at sea. With that, she gained a "secret" human friend, and her fate became inextricably tied to Navenia's. However, the choices and bonds thrust upon them would put an abrupt end to their story... while also opening up a new chapter.

Skills
Dolia takes on mermaid form when in water (rivers are also considered water), reducing the slows taken by 50% and returning life and mana every second. The mermaid form's Basic Attacks will shoot water arrows for ranged damage. Dolia's [Recovery] is replaced with [Mermaid's Gift], which allows her to create a pact with a selected teammate, and prioritizes her pacted teammate when using [Celestial Melody].
Dolia chants 4 sound waves that spread outward, the first 3 dealing spell damage and 10% slow. The 4th deals more spell damage and 50% slow for 1 second. The sound waves also echo when they hit an enemy, dealing spell damage to those they touch and, if released in water, sending waves of water knocking back nearby enemies (knockback of enemies around you has a stun effect). Non-heroic units provoke a much smaller echo, dealing only 50% of the damage.
Lam enters “Submerged” state, greatly increasing his Movement Speed for 3 seconds. When the duration ends, Lam leaps out of the water, immediately restoring 50% of this skill’s cooldown. While in Submerged state, casting the skill again will cause Lam to surface early, dealing 300 (+120% Bonus Physical Attack) Physical Damage to nearby enemies and slowing their Movement Speed by 50% for 1.5 seconds. Passive: While in river terrain, the Submerged state has no time limit. If an enemy hero with below 30% Health appears within 1500 range, Lam gains 450 Movement Speed.
After Dolia briefly chants, refresh the skill with the longest current cooldown of a friendly within range, taking more cooldown from yourself. If a teammate's skill is not used after being refreshed, [Celestial Melody]'s cooldown recovery speed can be accelerated by 20/30/40%. Teammates do not consume Mana or Energy when using the skill for 5 seconds after the skill is refreshed, and the beatdown benefit caused by the skill is split equally with Dolia. Refreshing skills for contracted teammates is prioritized, followed by non-contracted teammates, or refreshing your own skills if there are no teammates nearby. Failure to refresh a skill returns most of the cooldown of [Celestial Melody].
