What does the farm lane do?
Marksman is a scaling role. You don’t need to win lane — you need to out-farm it. Every 10 CS = 1 minor item component.

Farm lane tempo
- Level 1: Help your Roam invade if the enemy opens there, otherwise take the first wave.
- Level 1–4: Prioritize CS over trades. Last-hit every minion. A missed CS is a missed item timing.
- Minute 2–3: First back for Sword of the Sea → boots.
- Minute 3–4: Take Overlord with your jungler + Roam.
- Minute 4+: Rotate to Tyrant fight. Stay at max attack range behind your tank.
- Minute 8+: Join every teamfight — you are the carry window now.
5 mistakes every farm lane player makes
1. Fighting instead of farming
You win by out-scaling. If the trade isn’t free, pass on it.
2. Standing in front
One bad positioning cost-s a teamfight. Stay behind the tank at all times.
3. Ignoring boots
Boots of Deftness (attack speed) is the default marksman boots. Get them by minute 4.
4. No Lifesteal / Bloodweeper
Without lifesteal you get poked out. Bloodweeper as a 2nd or 3rd item is standard.
5. Solo-pushing mid-game
Squishy marksmen die to assassins off-vision. Push with your team or the Roam.
Matchups
Long-range lane bullies (Hou Yi, Marco Polo) beat short-range carries by denying CS. Hyper-scalers (Lady Sun, Luban No.7) need 3 items to come online — protect them. If you are counter-picked, freeze the wave and farm under tower.
Roam peel + marksman CS — the golden duo. Ping every skill cooldown for coordinated trades.

Strong Roam partners: Yaria (peel + slow), Dolia (shield + CC), Da Qiao (heal). Avoid full-engage Roams (Bai Qi) on hyper-scaling carries — they spend mana on picks instead of peeling.
When do I start teamfighting?
Minute 8+, after 2 completed items. Before that, stay near your tank, hit max-range autos and fall back on any dive.
